Product description With an 18x zoom range, the Fujinon HA18X5.5BERM-M6 Premier Series ENG/EFP Lens with Manual Focus, Servo Zoom, and Robotics Applications has the zoom range to cover sports from both up close and at a distance. With a close focus distance of about 16", you can get high-energy close shots under a basket, or zoom in across to isolate a player in motion. Suitable for more than just sports, this lens gives you the focal length variety to work in a studio or get an intimate interview. It features manual focus and a 16-bit optical encoder for accurate servo zoom. The 18x zoom range can be augmented by engaging the built-in 2x extender.
The lens holds its f/1.8 maximum aperture from 5.5 to 62mm, ramping to f/2.9 at 100mm, with an optical design that losses only 0.1 stop of light at the wide end, and 0.2 stops of light from 100mm and longer, maintaining a close relationship between F-stop and T-Stop. The digital servo zoom is extremely responsive, and the lens incorporates an inner focus design that doesn't rotate the front of the lens when focusing. The Quick Zoom feature improves servo zooming speeds to as fast as 0.7 seconds from end to end. - Breakdown of Fujinon Lens Name

- Robotics Mode
- This lens features a software function that was developed for robotics applications and is a less costly option to Fujinon's Quick Frame option. The lens features 16-bit encoders and a virtual 20-pin connector for advanced communication capabilities.
- Digi Power
- With a 32-bit RISC processor in the lens, a CPU in each servo demand, optical encoders, and high-speed serial communication devices, the digital control circuit provides 16-bit accuracy in zoom and focus controls.
- Digital Quick Zoom
- Quick Zoom means no more having to mark the lens after you've found the frame just to zoom in to check focus. Quick Zoom provides for a rapid zoom movement to the telephoto position to check focus with the simple push of a button. Releasing the button returns the lens to the previously selected zoom position. Quick Zoom speed is improved to 0.7 seconds end to end.
- Inner Focus
- Focusing action only moves elements in the middle of the lens so the length of the lens does not change while focusing. This feature also enables the use of polarizing filters and matte boxes because the front element will not rotate.
- Digital Find System
- The Focused Intelligent Network Diagnosis system aids in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting by evaluating various lens' electronic and mechanical parameters
