Product description Available for download, BFD Black Album from FXpansion is an expansion pack for BFD3 acoustic drum software. It has been engineered to recreate the drum sounds of Metallica's 1991 classic, commonly known as The Black Album. These sounds have been produced and recorded by Chocolate Audio, who previously brought forth Imperial and Modern Retro—two BFD expansion packs. To capture an authentic sound, the conditions of the original Black Album sessions have been emulated as faithfully as possible, including the employment of the original 1980 Gretsch Kit used throughout the album, with its Tama Bell Brass snare, its alternate 1970s vintage Black Beauty snare, and its Zildjian cymbals. The team engineering this session, led by Mike Tacci—assistant engineer on the record—utilized the same room where the album was recorded, and recreated the microphone array, down to the close-miked cymbals and complicated room mic arrangements. Please note, you must have BFD3 to run this expansion pack. It is both Mac and Windows compatible. - Key Features
