Product description Available for download, FXpansion BFD Crush is an expansion pack for BFD3, BFD2 and BFD2 Eco. This particular pack samples a Crush Drum Sublime AXM Drum Kit, tuned and lightly processed to give you a loud, impactful sound upon loading. These samples are great for metal, rock, prog, djent, and other technically demanding genres.
A powerful kick has been sampled three ways to fit your mixes, including dampened, fully open, and without the resonant head. This kick was captured with microphones such as the Audix D6, the AKG D112, the Sennheiser E602, and an AEA R84 ribbon microphone. Additionally, three different snares have been sampled, as well as a full complement of Meinl Byzance cymbals. Stacked cymbal setups have been included for aggressive timbres.
This software is designed for use with BFD 3, BFD 2, and BFD Eco. You must have one of those pieces of software to utilize this expansion pack. - Snares
- The kit was recorded with three snares across eight variations, giving you a range of dampened and resonant tones, as well as low and high tunings. Dynamic, condenser, and ribbon microphones were employed on the snare to give you options and flexibility.
- Toms
- A set of six tom drums—two floor toms and four rack toms—allow you to choose whether you want a set of three lower tuned toms, or a set of three higher tuned toms. You can also load all six toms at once for a huge, prog-style drum kit. These toms were recorded with the same microphones as the kick drum to give you the ability to balance tones throughout the entire shell set.
- Room Acoustics
- FXpansion also recorded a tiled surface to give some shimmer to the drum kit, and utilized PZM microphones from the BFD Eldorado sessions to provide a huge room sound that can be used as the foundation of your mix. Also included is a mono microphone positioned just in front of the drum kit, which can be squashed to fatten up your productions.
