Product description FXpansion BFD Vintage Recording Techniques is an expansion pack for the BFD3 acoustic drum software with a library that captures a beautifully sampled Ludwig Classic Maple drum kit, using multiple vintage microphone techniques. It provides musicians, engineers, and producers, with authentic, vintage-sounding drum elements, ideal for classic/modern rock, pop, funk, country, and blues grooves.The pack offers five popular vintage recording techniques including direct miking, ORTF, rock, Blumlein, and Glyn Johns, resulting in a detailed image of the drums with numerous mixing possibilities. The samples are recorded using 29 microphone channels to produce sounds ranging from dry, close-miked to ambient-sounding drums with wide stereo images and rich palettes of sonic colors.Multiple articulations for each kit piece are played with sticks and recorded with drum bleed and drum resonance between the shells (with the exception of the cymbals, which receive no bleed, but do bleed on to the other mic channels). The software ships with presets to get you playing right away. Note: This product requires a registered copy of BFD3 with the latest version installed. - Key Features

- Direct microphone technique: Dynamic and condenser microphones were expertly placed on all kit pieces for a close-miked dry sound

- Rock technique: Spaced pair setup features two AKG C414 XLS large-diaphragm condenser mics that give a wide stereo image with a rich palette of sonic colors
- Blumlein technique: Two ribbon microphones configured to give a good stereo image and a smooth-sounding ambience
- Glyn Johns technique: Two Neumann TLM 103’s were used for overheads, which when combined with the snare and kick direct channels provide that classic sound
