Product description Available for download, FXpansion Cypher 2 is a virtual instrument, one that's modeled on analog synthesizers and designed with expressiveness in mind. This makes it suitable for sound designers as well as composers.
The synth is fully compatible with MPE controllers, some of which allow for expression on an individual note basis. The benefits of such controllers are many; for instance, you can bend individual notes within a chord while others remain unaffected. The software also works equally well with standard MIDI controllers.
Cypher2 is a three-oscillator synthesizer with two filters and an easy-to-use output-amplifier section. Also provided are multiple modulators, including two LFOs, three envelopes, and various ramps. The TransMod modulation section stores in 24 slots, and lets you govern nearly any parameter in Cypher2 with a programmable modulation. Frequency modulation, ring modulation, waveshaping, and more are on hand.
Cypher2 gives you the ability to program complex musical passages via the 5D step sequencer. When it's time to apply effects, you can utilize an effects section that lets you apply up to six individual effect-types simultaneously. You have thirty effects from which you can choose.
The synth includes 800 presets as well as 400 presets designed for MPE controllers (labelled 5D). All of them are easy to find via the browser. Choose your favorite presets to navigate to them quickly and easily. If you're using both a standard MIDI controller and an MPE controller, Cypher2 can automatically switch between the two as you change presets from one to the other. This software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms. Note: This is an upgrade from Strobe2. You must have a previously purchased and licensed copy of Strobe2 to qualify for this pricing. - Key Features at a Glance
