Product description Available for download, Geist2 from FXpansion provides a dedicated environment for the creation of beats, the sculpting of instrumental timbres, the slicing of samples, and even the creation of an entire electronic song. This software also provides sequencing options, allowing you to sequence a simple pattern or an entire scene of music. You can record directly to its pads, if you wish, or utilize existing samples—either the ones provided by Splice Sounds, or your own, as chopped and arranged by you.
All sorts of modulations can be achieved via filtering, time-stretch/pitch-shift algorithms, step-automation, TransMod modulation, or by utilizing its panoply of on-board effects. Expansion packs are available, should you wish to use even more professionally produced samples. This software can be utilized as a stand-alone application or in conjunction with a host DAW in AU, VST and AAX plug-in formats. It's compatible with both Mac and Windows platforms. - These are the basic slots for loading samples in Geist2; there are eight layers on each pad
- Pads
- Pads are the next subunit for triggering samples; within any engine, you can see four banks of 16 individual pads
- Patterns
- Patterns provide a track viewing of your pads; you get 64 tracks per pattern, and 24 patterns per engine
- Engine
- Each engine is made up of 64 pads and 24 patterns, offering you multiple access points for your samples and layers thereof
- Scenes
- Each scene is a performance snapshot of the pattern currently playing within each of the eight engines
- Song
- This is your timeline-based view and arrangement of pattern references; this view provides a track representing each engine
