Product description You'll enjoy GPS-guided navigation and advanced training and communication features with the Edge 1030 Cycling Computer and GPS Navigator from Garmin. The Edge 1030 features a 3.5" color touchscreen display, comes pre-loaded with Garmin Cycle Map with turn-by-turn navigation, alerts, and round-trip routing, and offers Rider-to-Rider messaging to send pre-written notes to individual riding companions or groups (compatible smartphone required). Let the experience of Garmin Connect members help you find the best courses to ride with Trendline Popularity Routing, which analyzes billions of miles' worth of uploaded data to suggest the best on-road and off-road routes. Strava Live Segments allows you to "compete" against your own best time or those of other Strava users on a given route segment, and Training Peaks displays your planned workout and measures your progress to your goals. Best Bike Split allows you to see how changes in weight, power, and drag can affect your goal race time and helps you plan for race day. You can also customize the Edge 1030 with free apps, widgets, and data fields from Garmin's Connect IQ store for everything from weather forecasts to power metrics analysis. The Edge's rechargeable battery lasts up to 20 hours on a charge. It's designed to be waterproof and can withstand incidental exposure to water of up to 3.3' for up to 30 minutes. - Popularity Routing
- Edge 1030 suggests the best route, choosing from the roads (and trails) most traveled by your fellow cyclists. Or, use the improved and revamped Course Creator in Garmin Connect to generate additional bike-friendly routes based on popularity data.
- Preloaded Maps
- The Edge 1030 is pre-loaded with the Garmin Cycle Map and includes turn-by-turn navigation and new navigation alerts that notify you of upcoming sharp turns. While you ride, get information about elevation data, see points of interest, and search for addresses. Round-trip routing will even generate a route for you. Employs GPS and GLONASS services, barometric altimeter, and accelerometer.
- Rider to Rider Messaging
- Rider-to-rider messaging lets you send pre-written notes from your Edge 1030 to theirs. Let your friends know if you'll catch up in a few minutes or if they should go on without you. If you have a flat tire or need assistance, you can send a message to your fellow riders paired with GroupTrack so they can find you. (Compatible smartphone required.)
- Smart Connectivity
- Respond to missed phone calls or texts with pre-written messages such as "be home soon," and let friends, family and fellow riders follow your rides in real time with LiveTrack and GroupTrack. Incident Detection automatically sends your location to an emergency contact if you run into difficulty (compatible smartphone required).
- Strava Live Segments
- Get alerts for segment starts and finishes, and compete virtually against your own personal record or those of Strava friends. With a Strava Premium membership (60-day free membership is included), starred routes can be wirelessly sent to your Edge so you can navigate and compete on your favorite Strava segments at the same time.
- Training Suite
- The TrainingPeaks Connect IQ app guides you through your workout in real time, complete with intensity targets and interval durations. After your workout, sync to TrainingPeaks for detailed analysis and to measure progress toward your goals. Create a free TrainingPeaks account, and get started with a free training plan.
