Product description The Garner PD-4 Physical Hard Drive Destroyer was specifically designed as a high security device to insure that no one can tap into your drive for the purpose of stealing data. It should be considered as the last step in your security procedures. Inasmuch as one drive looks the same as any other, it becomes difficult to distinguish between which is functional and which is either empty or destroyed. The PD-4 takes the worry out of that concern by destroying the drive - completely. The PD-4 destroys the drive by bending, breaking and totally mangling the drive and all its components. The PC board is shattered as well as the "read/write" heads which are crushed. It is a stand-alone unit that completes the process of data removal and demagnetization. There is no software to be installed for its use. The unit is also portable which makes it easier and safer since it minimizes the danger of the drive either being lost, stolen or damaged during transport. The PD-4 has been updated with an auto height detection system. This allows the operator to save precious time when destroying today's low profile or 1" hard drives, laptop hard drives or multiple hard drives in a single sequence. Auto sensors also will allow the operator to destroy the taller half-height and network drives up to 2" in height with no additional user input. It only takes 20 seconds for the first drive to be destroyed, therefore meeting the NSA's Emergency Destruction guidelines. If your company is dealing with sensitive material that needs to be destroyed after a certain amount of time, a Garner Degausser is an indispensable addition to your inventory. The PD-4 Will Help Meet The Destruction Standards of the Following - PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry) Data Security Standard
- HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act)
- PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act)
- GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act)
- California Senate Bill 1386
