Product description The PD-5 Multiple Hard Drive Destroyer Package with HD-2 Hard Drive & Tape Degausser from Garner provides a secure way to ensure sensitive data is properly handled according to NSA standards. The package includes the PD-5 Multiple Hard Drive Destroyer with the SSD-1 Solid State/Flash Destroyer Accessory, the HD-2 Hard Drive & Tape Degausser, the SW-2 Secure Workstation, two color-coded bins, and a recycling container.
The PD-5 Multiple Hard Drive Destroyer has an LCD display, a 9 second cycle for two standard hard drives and the included SSD-1 adds an SSD/Flash Media destruction insert. The PD-5's chassis, motor, and all main components are aluminum and completely recyclable. It has a very unique operation with its automatic High-Torque Sensor that allows the crushing wedge to move at high speed to the media and then optimize speed for maximum crushing power. The PD-5 automatically destroys all formats and sizes of hard drives including Network SCSI and IDE Drives up to 1.66" in height. Since the PD-5 doesn't rely on software, all working and non-working hard drives put in the chamber will be destroyed in just 9 seconds. A simple push of a button will ensure complete hard drive destruction. The included SSD-1 Solid State Destroyer sanitizes solid state media such as SSD, Flash, Compact Flash, USB drives, and controller boards for hybrid HDD's. Over 90 pins pierce the solid state media from top and bottom causing both perforation and waffling, which destroys the individual memory chips.
The HD-2 Hard Drive & Tape Degausser erases hard drives (laptop, desktop and network up to 1.5" high) and high coercivity tape media, including all formats of LTO (1,2,3, and 4), SuperDLT I & II, DLT, AIT, 8mm, and more, all without any adapters. With a continuous duty rating (no cooling necessary), quiet operation, and a 60 second cycle time, the HD-2 can fit right on a desktop. The degausser is user-friendly: simply place your media into the drawer on the right side of the HD-2, push the "Erase" button, and within 60 seconds your media is erased. The HD-2 has been independently tested and certified to meet both ANSI and CE standards. Built-in safeguards check the stored power before each erase cycle ensuring complete erasure every time. Audible tones and lighted push buttons report the status of the HD-2 to the operator. The HD-2 produces an erasing field many times stronger than the erasing fields produced by the read/write heads in hard drives and tape drives. The field strength along with the encompassing magnetic field ensures the data is no longer recoverable by computer or laboratory attacks. Since the HD-2 does not rely on software, it will completely and permanently erase failed and damaged hard drives regardless of the operating system or interface. Note: Hard Drives and Flash chips are not reusable after having been destroyed. - PD-5 with SSD-1:
