Product description The Gefen 4K Multi-Format 2x1 HDBaseT Sender allows you to transmit UHD or DCI 4K 30 Hz signals up to 130' and 1080p60 signals up to 230' to an optional receiver over a single CAT5e cable, sold separately. It features individual HDMI and VGA inputs and lets you switch between them manually via the front panel or RS-232 or set up automatic switching. An independent 3.5mm audio input is available for running L/R audio with the VGA signal. VGA signals with lower resolutions than WUXGA and a legacy aspect ratio can be scaled to widescreen WUXGA. This allows for higher-resolution output as well as more seamless transitions when switching between HDMI and VGA inputs.
RS-232 and two-way IR signals can also be extended, and 3rd-party RS-232 controllers can be used for switching, scaling, EDID management, and volume and other controls. The transmitter and optional receiver can be powered from only one of the units via bidirectional PoH (Power-over-HDBaseT), over the same CAT5e cable used for signal extension. The transmitter has a compact design and can be surface-mounted or hidden away under a desk via the included mounting brackets. The device uses Gefen's implementation of HDBaseT technology, with enhancements including advanced EDID management. Note: A shielded (STP) CAT5e or better cable is recommended. An unshielded (UTP) cable may be acceptable depending on cable quality. - Key Features
