Product description The Gefen 4K Multi-Format 2x1 HDBaseT Wall Plate Sender allows you to transmit UHD or DCI 4K signals up to 130' and 1080p60 signals up to 230' to an optional receiver over a single CAT5e cable, sold separately. It features individual HDMI and VGA inputs and lets you switch between them manually via the front panel or RS-232, or set up automatic switching. An independent 3.5mm audio input is available for running L/R audio with the VGA signal. VGA signals with lower resolutions than WUXGA and a legacy aspect ratio can be scaled to widescreen WUXGA. This allows for higher-resolution output as well as more seamless transitions when switching between HDMI and VGA inputs.
An RS-232 signal can also be extended, and 3rd-party RS-232 controllers can be used for switching, scaling, EDID management, and volume and other controls. The transmitter can be powered using an optional power supply or via PoH (Power-over-HDBaseT) from the corresponding receiver over the same CAT5e cable used for signal extension. The transmitter has a North American standard 2-gang wall-plate form factor and is compatible with most North American 2-gang table boxes and "open-back" low-voltage installation brackets. The device uses Gefen's implementation of HDBaseT technology, with enhancements including advanced EDID management. Note: A shielded (STP) CAT5e or better cable is recommended. An unshielded (UTP) cable may be acceptable depending on cable quality. - Key Features
