Product description At times, when installing a home theater, the limits of cable length can become a problem when distancing and separating components. All cables types suffer from issues of signal degradation, limited maximum length or the exorbitant cost of long cable runs. To address this, Gefen has created the DIGAUD-141 Digital Audio Extender which has the capability to convert and broadcast TOSLink optical or S/PDIF coaxial digital audio. This signal can be transmitted over a single inexpensive and common CAT5 network cable to connect the sender and receiver units over great distances. The signal path is able to maintain complete stereo or multi-channel audio formats (DTS, Dolby Digital, 8.1 etc.) from the source with a maximum range of 330 feet (100 m.) - Supplies clear digital audio over long distances as if connected locally
