Product description The EXT-USB2.0-SR USB 2.0 Extender from Gefen lets you extend USB 2.0 devices up to 165' from your computer over a Cat 5e or better cable. The sender unit comes with a USB Type-B port, while the receiver unit has a USB Type-A port. Each unit has an RJ45 link connector. Compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, the plug-and-play USB 2.0 extender is ideal for remotely accessing laser printers, scanners, external hard drives, optical disc burners, flash drives, webcams, and other USB 2.0 peripherals. - Supports USB 1.1 and 2.0.
- Supports the full 480 Mb/s speed of USB 2.0.
- The USB Type-A connector on the receiver can supply up to 2A / 5V of power.
- Sturdy metal enclosures help to protect against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) from other nearby devices.
- Compact enclosures are easy to install and can be hidden away.
- No drivers required thanks to the plug-and-play nature of USB.
- A powered USB hub may be connected to the receiver to allow for the connection of additional USB devices. Using a USB hub reduces the extension range to approximately 132'. The exact range reduction depends on the USB hub design. Some hubs may perform better than others.
- Applications such as remote desktop (keyboard/mouse/touchscreen), security, industrial control, digital signage control, and scientific data acquisition are possible thanks to the extender's universal implementation of USB standards.
