Product description The Gefen GEF-DVI-FM2000 Dual Link Fiber Optic Modular Extender extends a dual link DVI display up to 1000’ (304.8m) away from the source, using 2 strands of SC multi-mode fiber optic cables (sold separately). This extender supports both single and dual link DVI resolutions up to 3840 x 2400. Its fiber optic signal transmission provides protection from electromagnetic interference (EMI). Both the extender modules fit neatly behind the DVI connector for a clean and well-organized installation.The DVI FM 2000 sender module is connected to the DVI source, while the DVI FM 2000 receiver module is connected to the dual link DVI display. The 2-strand multi-mode SC fiber optic cables are used for connecting the DVI Sender and Receiver modules. The included 5VDC power supply is used for powering both the Sender and Receiver modules. Note: If the DVI source provides ample power on pin 14 of the DVI connector, the sender module need not be powered.The DVI Dual Link Fiber Extender only uses multi-mode SC fiber cables.The included power supply is required for the Receiver unit. However, if the source does not supply enough power to the Sender unit, then an optional power supply (Gefen part no.EXT-PS52AIP-1.3) must be used. In most situations, powering the Sender unit will not be necessary. - Extends dual link DVI source up to 1000' (304.8m) using multi-mode (50 or 62.5 micron) fiber optic cable (sold separately)
