Product description The Gefen RS232 Serial Extender is used to extend your RS-232 Serial device up to a 1000' away from your computer or other host device. The RS-232 extender sender unit is connected to the computer using the supplied serial cables. The receiver unit is connected to the extended device. An inexpensive standard CAT5 network cable is used to connect the sender and receiver units. - Streamlines computer installations by allowing source devices to be located off-site or isolated for sound, noise or heat
