Product description

The compact Genelec 8020D ESPRESSO 4" Active 5.1 Monitoring System with 8" Subwoofer includes five 8020D studio monitors and a 7050C subwoofer. Small in dimension, the system is designed to provide accurate sound reproduction with extended low end, for near-field monitoring when space is limited.
The 8020D is a 4" two-way active studio monitor equipped with a 50W woofer amplifier and a 50W tweeter amplifier. Its die-cast aluminum enclosure features Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) technology, which improves the flatness of the frequency response and the power response of free-standing loudspeaker systems. The speaker employs Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) technology to minimize early reflections, make the sound directivity uniform and smooth, and provide color-free and accurate reproduction. The 7050C is an 8" active subwoofer ideally matched with the 8020D speakers in both stereo and multichannel audio formats. It delivers 130W of power and extends the low frequencies down to 24 Hz. The subwoofer features the company's Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) technology and provides enhanced, color-free low end.
  • 8020D Studio Monitor (Producer Finish) Styled in what the manufacturer has dubbed a "Producer Finish", and now utilizing Class-D amplification, the Genelec 8020D Active Two-Way 4" Studio Monitor provides an accurate reproduction of the source material in a compact form factor. Its die-cast aluminum enclosure features a rounded shape, which minimizes frequency and reflection distortions caused by edge diffraction. The metal dome tweeter is surrounded by Genelec's Directivity Controlled Waveguide, which helps to create an even response when listening both on and off axis.

The 8020D is built with Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) technology, which automatically activates the speaker when an audio signal is detected and puts it in standby mode when no signal is present, reducing its energy consumption to less than 0.5W. The 8020D features a 50W high-frequency amplifier for its ¾" tweeter, and a 50W low-frequency amplifier for its 4" woofer. The bass response is expanded by a rear-facing reflex port, and a separately available Genelec subwoofer can be used to monitor a wider array of frequencies.
    • Attached Iso-Pod table stand insulates the speaker from vibration and enables you to tilt its position upward or downward
    • Well-suited for near-field studio monitoring, control rooms, editing suites, surround sound applications, and multimedia entertainment systems
    • Rear-facing treble-tilt, bass roll-off, and desktop cut controls enable you to optimize the speaker to its environment
    • Threaded holes for wall or ceiling brackets
    • Active crossover filter
    • Driver unit protection circuitry
    • Woofer and tweeter magnetically shielded
  • 7050C - 130W 8" Active Studio Subwoofer Building upon the success of the 7050A and 7050B models, the Genelec 7050C Studio Subwoofer is an 8", 130W active subwoofer, well suited for discerning professionals in music, post, film, and broadcast. The 7050C boasts several improvements including a bypassable onboard bass management system, lower distortion, a universal mains voltage switched-mode power supply, and an increased maximum SPL of 103 dB.The subwoofer works in stereo or 5.1 channel configurations using analog XLR inputs and outputs. The integrated bass management section features five input and output channels with 85 Hz low-pass/high-pass filters, plus a discrete 120 Hz LFE signal input with selectable +10 dB boost. The 7050C utilizes a magnetically shielded low frequency driver, housed in a Genelec LSE spiral enclosure, which delivers an extended low-frequency response down to 24 Hz with low distortion. Rear panel DIP switches to allow the user to adjust subwoofer phase and low-frequency roll-off, engage the +10 dB LFE level, and activate and control the sensitivity of the Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) power-saving mode, which reduces the unit’s power consumption down to a mere 0.5 W in standby mode. The Genelec 7050C ships with a standard IEC power cord.
