This connection features a USB Type-C interface, which sports a small and reversible design, and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.0 devices. Once connected, the Atom transfers data at a rate of up to 480 MB/s.
The Atom is preformatted for HFS+ with Journaling and compatible with Time Machine, letting it work right out of the box with a Mac. Reformatting is required for use with a Windows system. With a lightweight and rugged design, the Atom is well suited for the rigors of daily travel. For compatibility with a wide range of USB products, Glyph includes a cable for directly connecting the Atom to USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 systems along with a second cable that creates a connection with computers having a standard USB Type-A port.
