Product description The Golden Age Project Comp-3A Jr is a single-channel, vintage-style compressor designed to deliver compression with musical character for musicians, vocalists, and audio engineers in studios and sound reinforcement setups. Its discrete analog signal path components include resistors, capacitors, diodes, and transistors, all of which contribute to its overall tone. The XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs and outputs are transformer-balanced for optimum audio performance and low noise. Simple, yet versatile controls ensure efficient operations and effective dynamic leveling. In addition to the gain reduction and gain makeup knobs, there are switches for attack and release time combinations, a high-pass sidechain filter, a hardwire bypass, and power. The 7-segment LED meter can display gain reduction or output level via a dedicated toggle switch. The Comp-3A Jr boasts a quarter-rack width and ships with an external power supply. - Vintage-style electronics; no integrated circuits in the main audio signal path
- Discrete components including resistors, capacitors, diodes, and transistors
- Integrated optocoupler for gain control
- Transformer-balanced I/O using two different transformers, each one optimized for its purpose
- 3-position Time switch selects different combinations of attack and release times
- Increase attack and release times for B and C positions via internal jumpers
- Link jack for connecting to another unit for stereo operation
- All external controls accessible via front panel
- External power supply avoids interaction with audio circuits and transformers
- Compact 1 RU quarter-rack format

whenever everything’s hooked up, i’m able to turn the 3A on and off but whenever it’s on i cannot hear myself through the mic at all, all i hear is static. once it’s turned off then generally i can hear myself in my mic like normal. is my signal chain wrong and that’s why it’s not working or do i need to adjust the settings on the 3A? | | Post reply |
