Product description The Golden Age Project EQ-573 Vintage-Style Equalizer with High-Pass Filter is designed specifically to be used together with the Golden Age Project PRE-573 Preamplifier through the unit's insert connector. It cannot be used as a standalone EQ. The class-A circuit design used in the EQ-573 Equalizer is similar to the EQ section in the classic 1073 EQ, with additional frequencies available on both the mid- and high-frequency sections. The signal path uses only discrete components with only six active elements to deliver a sound that is punchy and warm. These sonic characteristics have been heard on countless recordings through the years and the EQ works well on most sound sources and in most music genres. The EQ-573 Equalizer has stepped frequency controls that offer a wide selection of frequencies from 33 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Each section can be switched off individually.
There is also a master bypass switch for easy comparisons. The low- and high-frequency bands are shelving designs and the mid-frequency band is a bell filter. The control range is ±15 dB for the 2 lower bands and ±18 dB for the high-frequency band. The high-pass filter is of the inductor type with a slope of 18 dB / octave. Both the PRE-573 Preamplifier and the EQ-573 Equalizer are designed to be installed in a 500 Series rack. - Vintage-style electronics
