Product description The XK-1c from Hammond carries on the tradition of the original drawbar/tonewheel concept first developed in 1934. The single manual, ultra-light (compared to the original) digital recreation provides the essential keyboard sounds required to play any show in any style, including a genuine and vintage-perfect Hammond organ along with an advanced digital Leslie processor.
The keyboard uses the same Virtual Tonewheel "engine" as the company's flagship B3-mkII Console Organ, with all the traditional elements, such as the original chorus/vibrato and touch-response percussion. The latest digital Leslie is also onboard, completing the classic setup, which is one of the most desired pieces of gear for any keyboard player in any genre of music.
In addition to the drawbar profiles, the sounds of two of the most popular transistor combo organs are included, along with twenty-eight equivalent ranks of classical pipe organ sounds. The combo organ and pipe organ voices may be fully registered in traditional fashion via the drawbar controls.
Extensive customization capabilities are available, allowing the organ to replicate any Hammond/Leslie vintage, with all settings stored in each patch. Additionally, the most common aftermarket "Hot Rod" modifications are possible and a wide variety of different Hammond tones are available in the factory patch library. There are sixty-four factory patches and sixty-four user-programmable patches.
The XK-1c can be used as a MIDI controller, with the ability to address three external zones. A physical Leslie speaker can be connected via a dedicated Leslie jack, as can various optional foot controller pedals. - Genuine Hammond organ with Virtual Tonewheels that provide its traditional sound
- Includes vintage "combo" organs, and a variety of pipe organ ranks to provide church and classical organ voices
- Digital and programmable Leslie is available for the drawbar voices, as well as the traditional chorus-vibrato as used on the legendary B-3
- Master EQ allows for tailoring the total tonal response of the keyboard
- Play MP3 type audio files, convenient for accompanying solo performances or practicing
- External Zones are available for use as a MIDI master keyboard
- Sixty-four user-defined patches, along with eight "Favorite" quick-call patches available for on-stage use
- Built-in USB port for easy access to a PC or for saving the audio file set up of the music player, and also for storing the voice library
- New voices downloadable via the USB port
