Product description The slightly denser Heliopan 62mm KB15 (80A) Color Conversion Glass Filter is recommended for daylight color reversal film with artificial light from the popular 60-100W halogen bulbs commonly used in lights aimed at the ceiling. With weaker incandescent bulbs, there will again be that pleasant warm tone for moody interior photographs. Let's say you're at a family gathering and you've brought your camera and want to take some photos of this once-a-year gathering. You have traditional daylight balanced film but find yourself in a room filled with table lamps. If left unfiltered, your photos will turn out yellowish. Under certain circumstances, perhaps a nice effect but not flattering in terms of skin tones or what our eyes are used to seeing or expecting. Enter the 80A filter!... This filter allows you to "balance", i.e. bring back, correct color tone to your images. There is some loss of film speed that may require the use of a tripod but, at least, your photos will demonstrate the proper tonality they so richly deserve. Heliopan Lichtfilter-Technik of Munich, Germany, has changed their black anodized brass filter rings on most Heliopan non-rotating filters to their "slim" mounts. These slim mounts are made of black anodized brass stock and have so little rim in front of the lens (5.4mm) that they will not vignette with lenses as short as 21mm. Heliopan offers a wide selection of sizes, screw-in, series, bayonet, square and rectangular filters including digital, video, center weighted, graduated, wide angle, Kaesmann polarizers, drop-in polarizers, etc. - Heliopan cuts, grinds, polishes and coats their filters with the same techniques and equipment as used for the finest German camera lenses.
- All Heliopan screw-in type and series size filters are mounted in precision black anodized brass rings to eliminate binding or cross threading and to ensure optimal alignment.
- Filters still retain front threads for a lens cap, a lens hood or even stacking a second filter.
- The portion of the Heliopan slim filters that are in front of the lens have been reduced in thickness by 37% over the former mount.
