Product description The Heritage Audio 2264E Compressor and Limiter Module is a 10 series compatible 1RU rack module designed for studio signal processing. The unit can be used in 10 series racks, 8-channel frames, and 80 series consoles. The device's circuitry is based on the original 2254 Compressor/Limiter audio path with a classic Class A amplifier stage and the control circuit of the 2264a.
The top of the device features an analog gain reduction meter that shows the amount of compression or limiting up to 20 dB. The unit features flip switches for engaging the limiter and compression functions, as well as recovery switches that set the time constant for the compression and limiting process. The limiter has selectable recovery times of 50 ms, 100 ms, 200 ms, 800 ms, Auto 1 (100 ms on peaks, 2 seconds on program material), and Auto 2 (50 ms on peaks, and 5 seconds on program material). The compressor recovery time can be set to 100 ms, 400 ms, 800 ms, 1500 ms, Auto 1 (100 ms on peaks, 2 seconds on program material), and Auto 2 (50 ms on peaks, 5 seconds on program material).
For precise adjustments, the unit features stepped controls for the limit level, compression threshold, compression ratio, and gain makeup. The limit level can be set between +15 dBm down to +4 dBm in 0.5 dB steps. The compression threshold can be set from +10 dBm down to -20 dBm in 2 dB steps, and the compression ratio can be set at values of 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, and 6:1. The gain makeup of the unit has a range of 0 to 20 dB in 2 dB steps. A bypass switch allows you to place the module in and out of the signal path. Using the IND switch, the module can be linked to Buss A, Buss B, or operated independently.
