Product description The Heritage Audio HA73EQX2 is a hand-wired, dual-channel mic preamp in the style of a classic '73 unit. It provides that warm, creamy tone associated with the vintage British sound of the 1970s. Two inputs are on hand for microphones (via XLR connections) and instruments (by means of the front panel 1/4" DI inputs). You can also switch the preamp into line level mode, which is a nice touch for mixing engineers who work primarily—though not entirely—in the box. With this unit, such engineers can lend analog color and EQ to their entire mixes, or to certain select buses. Part of the original '73's appeal was the EQ section, and the Heritage Audio recreation provides this hand-wired EQ within the HA73EQX2. The EQ offers low-shelving, high-pass filtering, a mid-band EQ, and a fixed 12 kHz high shelf. As for the mic section, you're given all the options commensurate with a high-quality preamp: Phase-reversal, phantom power, a 20 dB pad, impedance switching, and stepped attenuators on the gain stage. The unit is rackmountable, taking up 2 RU of rack space. - Key Features and Controls at a Glance
