Product description The RocketStor 6422AS 2RU 8-Bay Hardware RAID Class Rackmount from HighPoint is a professional grade, high-density hardware RAID solution designed for Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. It is capacity optimized for storage applications, media libraries, nearline archiving storage, and server & workstation storage.
The 6422AS has a 2RU rackmount form factor and eight drive bays that support both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA and SAS 6 Gb/s drives. All the drive bays are hot-swappable, and they feature LEDs noting power and failure, which help report on the status of each drive. The 6422AS supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50, 60, and JBOD, and its RAID controller is a RocketRAID 4522, which is equipped with dual Mini-SAS ports and an eight-lane PCIe 2.0 x8 host bus interface. Data transfer speeds and access times are optimized through the ARM based processors and RAID 5/6 CRC32 engines with 512MB of internal DDR3 cache memory. The dedicated processor and memory also allow this hardware RAID to work independently and helps to minimize its impact on the host's resources. Additionally, these dedicated resources help the hardware RAID to support greater I/O queue depths and handle variable RAID block size, which can maximize I/O efficiency and provide increased transfer performance for I/O intensive applications, such as On Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) or web servers.
Administrators can also configure desk verification sessions using the Storage Health Inspector (SHI) to help maintain the health of the entire RAID by examining each member of the array for failed sectors, which may then be remapped or repaired on the fly to help ensure that the storage remains active and accessible. Administrators can also initialize or schedule RAID verification sessions that check each disk member of an array for parity consistency. If any parity-related problems are found, the interface will immediately rebuild the array to ensure the integrity of your data.
The 6422AS will help to protect your RAID, even if it is used in a high-stress work environment. Cooling fans and front-to-rear ventilation also work to help keep ambient temperatures under control. The cooling fans are powered by dual 400W redundant power supplies, which operate using 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz. The power supplies feature a modular design, allowing them to be easily removed and replaced.The 6422AS also features a user-friendly RAID Storage Management Suite that is available for all major operating systems and includes BIOS-level management, a web-based RAID interface, and optional CLI packages for Linux and FreeBSD platforms. The web-based interface is also known as "WebGUI" and works with most modern browsers, allowing users of most experience levels to quickly and easily monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot storage configurations for operating systems across Windows and Mac platforms.
The RocketStor 6422AS includes a RocketRAID 4522 RAID controller, 8 x hard drive trays, 2 x Mini-SAS cables, 1 x power cord, 32 x hard drive mounting screws, and 2 x hard drive tray keys. It is protected by a limited 1-year warranty. - Advanced RAID Features
