Product description Connect up to four USB 3.0 Type-A devices to your Windows and Mac systems using the RocketU 1144D Four Port USB 3.0 PCIe Controller Card from HighPoint. USB 3.0, which is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1, supports data transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s and this card has a dedicated controller for each port. This allows each port to achieve speeds up to 5 Gb/s, instead of having to share that bandwidth between the four USB 3.0 ports. Additionally, this card is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices.
This USB 3.0 card supports USB Attached SCSI (UAS), a computer protocol that is used to transfer data to and from USB storage devices. UAS is dependent on the USB protocol and utilizes the standard SCSI command set, helping to boost transfer speeds and utilize fewer CPU resources.
The RocketU 1144D has full-height form factor and a PCI Express 2.0 x4 interface that is compatible PCIe x4, x8, and x16 slots. Supported operating systems include Windows 10, 7, 8.1, and 8, Windows Server 2012 and 2008, Mac OS X 10.9 & later, and Linux, and protection is provided by a limited 1-year parts and labor warranty. General Features - USB Attached SCSI (UAS)
- UAS (USB Attached SCSI) is a computer protocol that is used to transfer data to and from USB storage devices such as hard drives, solid-state drives (SSDs), and thumb/flash drives. UAS is dependent on the USB protocol and utilizes the standard SCSI command set. When combined with HighPoint's per-port performance architecture, UAS can help boost transfer speeds.
UAS offers maximized bandwidth utilization and can handle multiple data transfer requests simultaneously, unlike the slower queue system of BOT (Bulk Only Transport), which only provides single-task commands in which each task must complete before the next begins. As a result, USB 3.0 connections working in UAS mode result in higher transfer speeds and lower CPU utilization. UAS also clears data queues faster, which results in smoother-operating PCs UPC: 643653114481 In the Box HighPoint RocketU 1144D 4-Port USB 3.0 PCIe 2.0 x4 HBA Controller Card Limited 1-Year Parts & Labor Warranty Table of Contents
