Product description Hard Drives by Application: Which Is Best for You? Read More The Z Turbo Drive G2 512GB TLC PCIe SED SSD (Z2 MB) from HP is compatible with HP Z workstations including Z240, Z440, Z640 and Z840. It also supports storage configurations as a boot device and as a data device. The SSD also can be configured with other storage components including SATA and SAS drives and controllers.The SSD is also supported by our current offering of operating systems, including Linux and may require a separate driver, depending on the OS. It supports BIOS version 1.53 and requires a BIOS update for older systems. The SSD can be configured with both SATA and SAS hard drives and with multiple Z Turbo drives per system.
Note: NVMe devices require a driver for proper detection and operation. Microsoft Windows 8 and higher have a built-in NVMe driver. For Windows 7, HP recommends the Microsoft hotfix (KB2990941 and KB3087873) which provides an NVMe driver. In addition, the Samsung NVMe driver, version 1.4.7.6, can be used with specific Samsung M.2 devices. Also note that the new NVMe driver will not support the original HP Z Turbo Drive, which requires an AHCI driver. - Supported in HP Performance Advisor (includes wear gauge)
