Product description The Z240 Series Small Form Factor Workstation from HP delivers powerful performance in a small form factor design and is geared towards professionals who require high reliability. With the capabilities to operate in immersive work environments and handle 24x7x365 workloads, the Z240 delivers processor and graphics technologies, as well as scalability to match your business needs.
This system is powered by a 3.5 GHz Intel Xeon E3-1245 v5 Quad-Core processor which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously and also features a burst speed of up to 3.9 GHz. The 8GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. While the current memory configuration is 1 x 8GB, there are four total memory slots that will allow the RAM to be upgraded to 64GB, using a 16GB chip in each of the four memory slots.
For storage of your files, this HP Z240 is equipped with a 256GB Z Turbo Drive PCIe SSD. While this SSD may not have the larger storage capacity of a traditional spinning hard drive, it contains no moving parts, which helps it to be more resistant against bumps, drops, and other kinds of damage. SSDs also receive less wear and tear than traditional hard drives, as there are no read and write heads. Additionally, as this SSD connects via PCIe as compared to SATA, it is able to operate with even greater data transfer speeds. It provides reads up to 1.08 GB/s and writes up to 800 MB/s.
If you want to add external storage drives or other peripherals, the Z240 features 8 x USB 3.0 ports and 2 x USB 2.0 ports. For users who wish to add additional components or upgrade the existing drive bays, the Z240 has 1 x 3.5" internal bay, 1 x 2.5" internal drive bay, and one shared internal/external 3.5" bay. There are also a total of four PCIe expansion slots and one M.2 slot that uses a PCIe Gen3 x4 connection.
The integrated Intel HD Graphics P530 delivers a sharp, clear picture, and features three DisplayPort 1.2 video outputs. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated Realtek HD ALC221-VB audio controller outputs high definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers.
The Z240 Series Small Form Factor Workstation includes a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, and a power cord. It operates using 240W power supply that is 92% efficient and runs using 90-264 VAC at 47-63 Hz. While the installed operating system is Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), a Windows 10 Professional (64-bit) license and media is included.

One of the USB 2.0 ports also doubles as a charging port. At 5 Gb/s, USB 3.0 transfers data up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0, which operates at 480 Mb/s. USB 3.0's high-speed transfer rate helps to significantly reduce data transfer times, meaning you spend less time waiting and more time focusing on the task at hand

You may only use one version of the Windows software at a time. Switching between versions will require you to uninstall one version and install the other version. You must back up all data (files, photos, etc.) before uninstalling and installing operating systems to avoid loss of your data
