Product description The Z240 Series Tower Workstation (ENERGY STAR) from HP delivers powerful performance in a tower form factor and is designed for professionals who require high reliability. With the capabilities to operate in immersive work environments and handle 24x7x365 workloads, the Z240 delivers processor and graphics technologies, as well as scalability to meet your business needs, in a compact yet expandable tower.
This system is powered by a 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7-6700 Quad-Core processor which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously. If you need more power, the CPU can be overclocked to 4.0 GHz using Intel's Turbo Boost technology. The 16GB of 2133 MHz PC4-17000 DDR4 RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. While the current memory configuration is 2 x 8GB, there are four total memory slots that will allow the RAM to be upgraded to 64GB, using one 16GB module in each of the four memory slots.
For long term storage of your files, a 256GB Z Turbo Drive G2 PCIe SSD offers quick access to your data. While the SSD may not have the larger storage capacity of a spinning hard drive, it contains no moving parts and is more resistant to accidental damage from bumps or drops. Having no moving parts also means that the drive will receive less wear and tear, as it will never come into contact with read or write heads. Additionally, as this SSD uses a PCIe connection, it is able operate with faster data transfers speeds than a SATA SSD. This SSD features read speeds of up to 2,150 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1,260 MB/s.
If you want to add external storage drives or other peripherals, the Z240 features 6 x USB 3.0 ports, 4 x USB 2.0 ports (one of which doubles as a charging port), and 2 x PS/2 ports. For users who wish to add additional components or upgrade the drive bays, the Z240 has a total of six expansion bays - 2 x 5.25" half-height external bays, 1 x 9.5mm slim optical drive bay, 2 x 3.5" internal bays, and 1 x 2.5" internal bay. There are also a total of five PCIe expansion slots. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 delivers a sharp, clear picture while allowing for multiple simultaneous displays to be used via its two DisplayPorts and single DVI-I port. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated Realtek HD ALC221-VB audio codec outputs high definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers.
The Z240 Series Tower Workstation includes a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, and a power cord. It operates at 90-269 VAC at 47-66 Hz. While the installed operating system is Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), a Windows 10 Professional (64-bit) license and media is included.
