Product description The Z240 Series Tower Workstation from HP delivers powerful performance in a tower form factor and is designed for professionals who require high reliability. With the capabilities to operate in immersive work environments and handle 24x7x365 workloads, the Z240 delivers processor and graphics technologies, as well as scalability to meet your business needs, in a compact yet expandable tower.
This system is powered by a 3.4 GHz Intel Xeon E3-1230 v5 Quad-Core processor which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously. If you need more power, the CPU can be overclocked to 3.8 GHz using Intel's Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. The 8GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. While the current memory configuration is 1 x 8GB, there are four total 288-pin DIMM memory slots that will allow the RAM to be upgraded to 64GB, using one 16GB module in each of the four memory slots.
For long term storage of your files, a 1TB 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" hard drive offers quick access to your data. If you want to add external storage drives or other peripherals, the Z240 features six USB 3.0 Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 Type-A ports (one of which doubles as a charging port), and two PS/2 ports. For users who wish to add additional components or upgrade the drive bays, the Z240 has a total of six expansion bays - two 5.25" half-height external bays, one 9.5mm slim optical drive bay, two 3.5" internal bays, and one 2.5" internal bay. The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro K420 graphics card has 2GB of DDR3 RAM and delivers a sharp, clear picture while allowing for multiple simultaneous displays to be used via its one DisplayPort 1.2 and one Dual-Link DVI-I video outputs, supporting resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated Realtek HD ALC221-VB audio codec outputs high definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers.
The Z240 Series Tower Workstation includes a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, and a power cord. It operates at 90-269 VAC at 47-66 Hz. While the installed operating system is Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit), a Windows 10 Professional for Workstations (64-Bit) license is also included.
