Product description The Turned On for GoPro HERO3+/4, from Hypoxic, is a hard-wired indicator light that lets you quickly tell the recording status of your GoPro HERO3+ or HERO4 camera. It connects to the rear expansion port on the camera and features an integrated cable with LEDs located at the end. After installing custom software onto your GoPro that runs in the background and reads the camera's status, the bright LEDs will shine in three different colors to indicate the camera's status: blue for "standby", red for "record", and yellow for "warning/error." By placing the LEDs within your peripheral vision, you can easily see what's going on with the camera while keeping your focus on the action happen around you - something that is crucial during extreme sports. The connector portion of Turned On is housed within a custom backdoor that can be attached to the GoPro Standard Housing. For a water-resistant seal, simply pop out the seal on a spare Standard Backdoor and place it within the track found on the Turned On backdoor. While not submersible, it will provide protection against rain and splashes. Additionally, Turned On's efficient design uses minimal power from the camera, and only does so when it's powered on. No additional batteries or chargers are required. - Key Features

- In order for Turned On's indicator lights to work, you must first install custom software onto your GoPro HERO 3+/4 that runs in the background, reading the camera's status. The software is downloaded online and then copied onto a microSD memory. It is important that your GoPro firmware is up to date, not in One Button Mode, and is at least 50% charged before installing the software. With the GoPro turned off, the microSD card is then inserted and the software will install once the camera powered on. In order to use Turned On with the GoPro HERO4, you must first run an application that modifies the camera's software before the Turned On software can be installed. Please see the support page on the Turned On website for a step-by-step guide on installing the Turned On software on the HERO3+ and HERO4.
