Product description Styled in a muscle car red finish, the Ibanez JS2480 is a Joe Satriani signature series electric guitar with a double-cutaway design. It features a basswood body, while the bolt-on neck is crafted out of maple and bubinga. Strings are secured to the body with an Edge tremolo bridge.
For electronics, the instrument offers an interesting combination: the Sustainiac Driver single-coil in the neck, and a DiMarzio Satchur8 humbucker in the bridge. The Sustainiac is a sustainer pickup, one that offers infinite sustain thanks to magnetic field created by the active Stealth PRO preamp.
When this pickup is switched into sustainer mode, you can achieve amp-like feedback from your notes at any volume, or you can sustain the notes you hold practically infinitely, allowing you to create synth like tones if you like. A switch controls this functionality further, giving you the ability to sustain the fundamental of a given note, its overtones, or a blend of both. The Satchur8 humbucker, on the other hand, is designed to give you a sweet, singing lead tone, one that is warm and smooth.
Both the volume and tone knobs contain push-pull switches, with a high-pass filter in the volume knob and the Sustainiac activator switch in the tone control. A hardshell case is included. - Maple and Bubinga Neck
