Product description Styled in an oil finish, the Ibanez SR Prestige Series SR5005 is a five-string electric bass featuring a wenge top and an African mahogany body, as well as an Atlas-5, bolt-on, five-piece wenge/bubinga neck with KTS Titanium rods. This neck, measuring 34" in scale, offers a wenge fingerboard with 24 medium frets. Fret positions are demarcated with mother of pearl and abalone oval inlays.
For electronics, the bass features Bartolini Custom soapbar pickups that offer a deep tone in the neck position and a bright timbre in the bridge position. A balance knob gives you a wide tonal palette as you blend between the two.
Complementing the pickups is an active 3-band EQ that provides controls for cut/boost over treble, mid, and bass frequencies. A 3-way, mid-frequency selector switch toggles between 250, 450, and 700 Hz, while the EQ on/off switch turns off the active circuit allowing the treble knob to function as a passive EQ tone circuit. Additionally, the bass is fitted with gold hardware including a Mono-rail V bridge with 16.5mm string-spacing, as well as a set of Gotoh machineheads tuners on the headstock. - Atlas-5 HP 5-Piece Wenge/Bubinga Neck
- The Atlas-5 HP 5-piece wenge/bubinga neck provides tonal clarity and excellent note attack, while its slim grip bolsters playability.
- Mono-Rail V Bridge
- The Mono-rail V with 16.5mm string-spacing provides string isolation. Each bridge is independently and securely locked down to the body to enhance vibration transfer and minimize interference.
- Bartolini Custom Pickups
- These American-made pickups are hand made in California exclusively for Ibanez. They're designed to provide a deep tone in the neck position while retaining a bright tone for the bridge. The pickups are dual-coil designs in a soapbar shape, and the accompanying balance knob allows for a wide tonal.
- Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-Band EQ
- The bass sports an active three-band EQ that boosts and cuts middle, treble, and bass frequencies. A mid-frequency switch lets you choose among center-frequencies in the midrange. If you decide to switch the EQ into passive mode, the active circuit is shut off, and the treble tone control knob becomes the global tone control for the passive circuit.
