Product description The 08L9870 TotalStorage LTO Ultrium 2 Data Cartridge from IBM is a data cartridge for the LTO Ultrium Generation 2 storage environments. The 08L9870 provides up to 200GB of native storage, or up to 400GB with 2:1 compression. The cartridge is embedded with an LTO Cartridge Memory (LTO-CM) chip, which is designed to enable fast, simultaneous transfer of cartridge-dependent data with IBM tape drives during media load and unload cycles. The LTO Ultrium 2 data cartridges are compatible with LTO Generation 2 tape drives and tape libraries utilizing LTO generation 2 drives from IBM and other LTO generation 2 compliant suppliers. - Provides capacity, performance, and reliability for midrange and network tape automated storage environments
- Contains 0.5" metal particle tape; cartridges feature a native data capacity of 200GB, and a compressed data capacity of 400GB (2:1 compression)
- Includes a Linear Tape-Open Cartridge Memory (LTO - CM) chip that contains cartridge specific information to communicate with Ultrium tape drives during loading/unloading via a radio frequency component
- Adheres to widely supported Linear Tape-Open (LTO) Ultrium 2 design specifications
