Product description The IK Multimedia Black 76 Limiting Amplifier Software (Download) is modeled after a classic limiter/compressor from the history of audio engineering. The algorithm is designed to recreate the characteristic sound imparted to the FET hardware compressor by its input transformer and class A output stage. The user interface includes virtual knobs for controlling the input level, output level, attack time, and release time of the limiter.
The software also features four buttons for selecting the compression/limiter ratio of 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, or 20:1 for a wide range of dynamic processing applications, as well as a virtual VU meter that can be switched from off to +4, +8, or GR. The left and right sides of the limiter can be linked or switched to operate in L/R mode for stereo or M/S for mid-side operation. In M/S mode, the mid channel is the mono sum of the sound stage and the side channel is the difference between the left and right channels. A bypass switch allows you to A/B the effect of the processing on the signal, and a reset switch can be used to restore the original settings.
The plug-in is fully compatible with native 32 and 64-bit applications on both Mac OS X (Universal Binary) and Windows (XP/Vista/7/8) computers. It supports VST, RTAS, AAX, and Audio Units plug-in formats. It can also be used with the T-RackS CS standalone application (sold separately). Table of Contents
