Product description The IK Multimedia Quad Image - Multi-Band Stereo Imager (Download) utilizes a mid side matrix and stereo field processor to enable the user to adjust the stereo width of up to four separate frequency bands. This enables you to process part of a signal's frequency spectrum without influencing the other sounds within the spectrum.
The purpose of this process is fix technical problems in mixes such as when the relationship between the center (m) and sides (s) of the mix are misaligned. For example, the stereo width of the treble can be broadened without affecting the bass or the kick drum, which are usually kept in the middle of a mix. It can also be used as an effect to exaggerate the stereo width of a source such as synthesizer to make the track more interesting. Each band offers adjustable stereo width and gain. The software also allows you to select the slope of the frequency crossovers to reduce the influence of artifacts between bands.
In the user interface, a display indicates the gain level for each band as well as the overall left and right stereo output levels. The bands can be linked and each band can be soloed or bypassed to observe the effects of the image processing. A master bypass switch allows you to A/B the effect of the processing on the entire signal, and a reset switch can be used to restore the original settings.
The plug-in is fully compatible with native 32- and 64-bit applications on both Mac OS X (Universal Binary) and Windows (XP/Vista/7/8) computers. It supports VST, RTAS, AAX, and Audio Units plug-in formats. It can also be used with the T-RackS CS standalone application (sold separately). Table of Contents
