Product description Available for download, the IK Multimedia T-RackS 5 Dyna-Mu is an emulation of a well-regarded American hardware piece that uses tubes as the mechanism for compression. As such, it provides a dynamic response that reacts musically to whatever input source you feed it. It also offers a tone that has been called creamy, gluey, and warm.
This module is a part of the T-RackS 5 collection of plug-ins, but is offered here as a single-slot plug-in for use outside the T-RackS 5 ecosystem. It can handle mono compression, stereo compression, independent dual-mono compression, and M/S compression for independent processing over middle and side-channel information.
Controls are provided for input, threshold, attack, release, and output, though you'll also note the Hard switch. This switch changes the ratio from between 1.5:1 to 4:1. The former is more suitable for mastering scenarios, while the latter is geared for grabbing individual elements. Gang and Link switches are also on hand for linking controls together and linking sidechain detection respectively. There's also a high-pass filter switch to make the compressor less reactive to frequencies under 100 Hz.Feel free to use this compressor on drums, instruments, vocals, and even whole mixes. It's compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems and works within audio units, VST, and AAX formats. - Other Features at a Glance
