Product description The T-RackS EQ 81 from IK Multimedia is a plug-in module based on a classic hardware module, and features a preamp section and 4-band EQ. While the original hardware can be considered the evolution of its older brother, the EQ 73, the software builds on this heritage with its versatile EQ section, sporting four independent bands (high-/low-shelving, plus two midrange peaking filters), complemented by high- and low-pass filters. The beauty of the original design resides in the interaction of the preamp circuit and EQ section. The plug-in is particularly useful when precise EQing on a track is needed, while still maintaining tone and analog warmth in the signal path. The midrange bands can be switched to high Q for more selective interventions, while the two outer shelving bands can be switched to peaking mode, in case more tone shaping on the frequency spectrum is necessary. Midrange sources, such as vocals and acoustic or electric guitars, benefit from the extended EQ capabilities, where the key frequencies are precisely tailored to always deliver musical results. However, the plug-in is equally at home on any source track like drums, bass, piano, and strings. The low shelving band delivers fullness and punch without sounding boomy, high shelf adds air, and the midrange is precise enough to allow a track to fit in the mix while still maintaining clarity and 3D image. - Classic British tone and warmth – preamp and EQ emulation plug-in for DAWs
