Product description Designed to provide added functionality and improve upon the utilitarian ergonomics of your Blackmagic Cinema or 4K Production camera, the PD Movie Blackmagic Armor System from ikan provides an all-in one cage, integrated power solution, motorized focus, zoom, or iris control, and sliding baseplate solution for shooting with your Blackmagic Cinema or 4K Production camera. The PD Movie provides protection for your camera and provides attachment positions for the handgrips, which can be mounted above for handheld work or below your camera for operating on a tripod in the classic studio-style position. The handgrips feature integrated thumb wheels that control the motors, and you can select from two different speed modes.
The cage provides a top handle with a baseplate that contains a battery that can run your camera for up to four hours of continuous shooting. Top-mounted support rods allow you to mount the two included motors above your lens, and provide mounting for the included aluminum matte box. The matte box features a flip up cover, which doubles as a top flag, and the leading edge of the matte box is lined with LEDs that act as a ring light. - The PD Movie Blackmagic Armor is crafted from precision-machined aluminum to fit both the Blackmagic 2.5K and 4K Cinema Cameras.
- Controls are conveniently located at the top of the handles and can be set up for focus, zoom, and iris control.
- In the standard mode, the thumbwheel will cover the focus/zoom throw of most cinema-style lenses, which generally have a rotation of between 270 and 300 degrees. The standard setting allows you to focus/zoom throughout the entire range of your cinema-style lens, while maintaining the precision the long focus throws allow. However, when using lenses with a shorter focus or zoom rotation, the feathered or slow mode is more appropriate as it has a shorter rotation.
- The controls may be placed in a handheld position or a studio-style position.
- The handgrips feature a single button that provides one push calibration of the motor to your lens.
- The power supply for the camera is integrated into the baseplate and allows for up to four hours of continuous shooting.
- The aluminum lens hood has an integrated LED ring light and its own onboard battery for power in low light or for eye-light accents.
- The baseplate incorporates individual power buttons with LED indicators. The button on the left provides power to your camera, and the button on the right of the baseplate provides power to the lens drive motors.
- The included charger plugs into the baseplate via the 6-pin Hirose connecter and will charge the camera and motor drive batteries. A full charge requires approximately 10 hours and is indicated when all four blue LEDs on the left side of the baseplate are illuminated.
