Product description - Saga S7H High Bright 7" Monitor | Ikan Tech Corner
The ikan Saga 7" High-Brightness On-Camera Monitor is a great addition to your DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema camera rig. Its slim profile is lightweight, and the internal processing allows for the Saga to display UHD and DCI 4K input signals from HDMI, as well as professional HD or SD signals over SDI. The panel used in this monitor is a 700 cd/m²-bright IPS LCD, which is viewable outdoors. While the screen is natively 1920 x 1200 in resolution, using the 1:1 pixel mapping allows you to achieve sharp focus, even with 4K video. Both the SDI and HDMI inputs can be looped through respective outputs (no cross conversion) to connect other monitoring or recording equipment. A headphone jack comes in handy with cameras that don't allow you to monitor audio through an output.If you use Canon DSLR cameras, you can use your already accessible LP-E6 batteries. Since there are two battery plates, you can continuously power the monitor by hot-swapping discharged batteries for fresh ones as they empty. If you use professional batteries, a D-Tap power cable is included. Also included are an articulated shoe mount and a neoprene carry pouch for when the monitor is not in use. - Check your focus by activating focus peaking. The image displayed will switch to monochrome for greater contrast, and a red highlight will display over high-contrast lines, delineating what's in focus.
- Waveform
- Using the built-in waveform analyzer, you can accurately gauge exposure across the frame. The waveform will immediately point out which parts of the image are correctly exposed, overexposed, underexposed, or clipping in the highlights or the shadows.
- Pixel-to-Pixel (1:1) Mapping
- Engaging pixel-to-pixel mapping turns off the internal scaling of the monitor, so you can check for critical focus. The area that's being viewed can be moved to focus on a different part of the image.
- DSLR Scaling
- The DSLR Scaling function enables users to extend their DSLR camera's HDMI video output to any of four options: Normal, 3:2, 16:9, and Full Screen.
- Underscan
- Underscan constrains the size of your image so the monitor shows everything the camera is seeing.
