Product description

Waterproofing
• • Features a depth rating of 200'
  • Includes a spare O-ring for the waterproof seal on the lens port, and silicone lubricant to keep the O-ring from drying out and cracking
  • Simply close the side latch and see the O-ring form a solid black watertight seal
  • Port for optional vacuum valve for checking watertight integrity before dive
  • Pump required in order to remove excess air and actually create a vacuum

Controls and Handling
• • Large, ergonomic mechanical controls include push-buttons and knurled knobs, as well as a newly added, highly sensitive, and ergonomic shutter lever mounted on the side
  • Controls enable access to all camera functions/features except the rear touchscreen and the built-in flash
  • Attaching an optional single or dual-handle tray to housing's standard 1/4"-20 threaded mount will afford improved handling and balance, while offering connection points for lighting arms

Construction Details
• • Built for durability, housing is made in the USA from a white, corrosion-resistant ABS and polycarbonate blend
  • White color reflects sunlight to keep your camera cooler when shooting at or above the water's surface
  • Back plate is still clear to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and maintain a full view of the camera
  • Camera mounting shoe is designed to be unobtrusive and allow for the changing of the battery and memory card, or attachment to a tripod

Lens Port
• • Supplied optical-grade acrylic dome port with zoom ring accommodates both the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM kit lens and the Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 lens
  • Minimal vignetting will be present in the 10-12mm range when using the Tokina
  • The zoom ring allows the camera with attached lens to be installed from the back of the housing, without requiring removal of the dome port
  • Optional #5509.20 zoom sleeve available for use with Canon 10-18mm STM lens
  • If you wish, the dome port may be removed without tools to attach the optional Flat Port for the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro lens instead
  • Flat port enables the use of the lens in auto-focus mode, and features 67mm front threads for the attachment of optional macro conversion lenses
  • Canon 100mm IS USM macro lens can also be used in auto focus mode in the flat port via the DLM 2.2" Port Extension
  • Housing built to be as compact and streamlined as possible, so it's not compatible with Ikelite's standard line of fixed and modular ports

TTL Strobe Exposure
• • Benefit from TTL or manual strobe exposure with Ikelite DS-series strobes via the housing's TTL circuitry and ICS-5 5-pin electrical bulkhead, which accepts a required, user-supplied sync cord
  • Since the camera is communicating directly with the strobe, the camera's built-in flash does not need to fire. This increases battery life and virtually eliminates lag time between exposures, allowing for longer operational time and shooting in more rapid succession
  • This direct connection of the strobe via sync cord also eliminates signal interference and false triggering caused by light rays bouncing off the water or another photographer's flash going off
  • Non-Ikelite strobes may also be connected to the housing, but will provide manual exposure only, as the TTL circuitry only works with the Ikelite flash units
  • Compatible with Ikelite DS50 (above serial number 70000), DS51, DS125 (above serial number 5000), DS160, DS161, and DS200 strobes
  • Incompatible with fiber-optic cables
