• Ikelite Underwater Action Housing for Canon PowerShot G9 X or G9 X Mark II Capture HD video and still images at depths as far down as 200' beneath the surface with Ikelite's compact, lightweight Underwater Action Housing for the Canon PowerShot G9 X or G9 X Mark II Digital Camera. The enclosure is designed primarily for video recording, as there is no strobe connector and the camera's flash is not accessible. However, quality photos are still possible with an optional constant light source at any depth or with available sunlight down to about 60' underwater.
  
  The housing affords access to important camera functions via ergonomic, mechanical controls, including push-buttons and a knurled dial with a small lever. Built for durability, the housing is made in the USA from a corrosion-resistant ABS and polycarbonate blend, which is light gray/white on the front, sides, top, and bottom but clear in the back to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and rear camera controls.
  
  The housing features a built-in, flat, optical glass lens port with a 3.0" diameter. Optional, accessory wide-angle and macro conversion lenses as well as color-correction filters can be attached to the front of the port to enhance your images.
  Construction Details
  • • Features a depth rating of 200'
    • Constructed by hand in USA from corrosion-resistant ABS and polycarbonate blend, which is light gray/off-white on front, sides, top, and bottom, but clear in back to allow you to monitor O-ring seal and rear camera controls
    • Light gray/off-white color reflects sunlight to keep camera cool when shooting at or above water's surface, and offers better contrast for improved viewing of camera, monitor, and O-ring seal
    • Controls made of acetyl plastic
    • Compact, lightweight design is well-suited to action video recording and makes for easy storage and transport
  Optional Lighting
  • • Designed primarily for video recording, as there is no strobe connector and the camera's flash is not accessible
    • Quality photos still possible with an optional constant light source at any depth, or with available sunlight down to about 60' underwater
    • Many optional lights designed for video and photo capture can be mounted to optional lighting arms for use with housing
    • At depths greater than about 60', or when diving in dark conditions, an external light source is necessary to provide adequate illumination and restore colors that get absorbed by water and turned into muted blue and green shades
    • Choose a light with a high lumen output, a wide and even beam, and--ideally--a daylight-balanced color temperature for best results
    • To preserve natural colors of subjects and environments in images, try to stay within arm's reach of what you're shooting. The further away you go, the more light is absorbed by water--which acts like a big blue/green filter
  Controls and Handling
  • • Affords access to important camera functions via ergonomic, mechanical controls, including push-buttons and a knurled dial with a small lever

  Lens Port
  • • Built-in, flat, optical glass lens port with a scratch-resistant front element, 3.0" diameter, and 67mm filter thread
    • Provides full use of the camera's zoom range without vignetting
    • Optional, external, 67mm threaded wide-angle and macro accessory lenses from Ikelite, INON, Epoque, and other manufacturers can be attached directly to front of port
    • Wide-angle lenses provide greater angle of coverage to allow you to fit more in frame, while macro lenses magnify your image to enable close-ups with greater clarity and detail
    • Both types of conversion lenses get you closer to subjects, reducing amount of water in between you and therefore minimizing distortion
    • Wide-angle lenses often result in some vignetting, which can be reduced/eliminated by zooming in, using smaller aperture, or cropping in editing/post-production phase
    • Recommended WD-3 Wide Angle Dome provides mid-range angle of view with no vignetting
    • Optional, external color-correction filters, available for tropical blue and green water, can be attached via press-fit method to front of port to restore hues that get absorbed underwater
    • Since color filters reduce amount of light that enters lens, they are most effective in sunny conditions at depths of about 80' or less
    • Color filters not recommended for use in conjunction with external lighting, as combination can throw off color accuracy in images

• Canon PowerShot G9 X Digital Camera (Silver) Pairing a sleek form factor with a large image sensor, the silver PowerShot G9 X from Canon is a pocketable compact camera featuring a 20.2MP 1" High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 image processor. The sensor and processor combine to form the Canon HS SYSTEM for clean, clear image quality, sensitivity to ISO 12800, continuous shooting up to 6 fps and Full HD 1080p/60 movie recording. A wide-angle to portrait-length 3x zoom lens offers a 28-84mm equivalent focal length and Intelligent IS helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions.   20.2MP 1" CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 6 Processor
  • A large 20.2MP 1" High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 image processor combine to create the Canon HS SYSTEM, which offers enhanced low-light performance with reduced image noise, as well as a top sensitivity of ISO 12800. The sensor and processor also benefit performance speeds throughout the camera, including a top 6 fps shooting rate in one-shot AF or 4.3 fps with continuous AF. The physically large sensor and advanced processing techniques also contribute to rich image quality that is well-suited to printing applications.
  3x Optical Zoom Lens
  • The versatile 3x optical zoom lens covers a wide-angle to portrait-length 28-84mm equivalent focal length range, and features an f/2-4.9 maximum aperture along with Intelligent IS image stabilization to benefit handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions.
  Intelligent IS
  • Utilizing the unique Intelligent IS image stabilization system, this camera compensates for a variety of types of camera shake by analyzing different movement types and applying specific settings to produce the sharpest imagery and smoothest movies:
    
    • Normal IS: Corrects for a wide variety of camera movement types when shooting stills.
    • Panning IS: Intended for use when making tracking shots, this setting ensures that IS will not interfere with desired lateral camera movements.
    • Macro (Hybrid) IS: Used for both stills and video recording, this setting corrects for shift-type camera shake that is common when photographing close-up subjects. It also compensates for motion blur associated with recording video while walking.
    • Tripod: Image stabilization is deactivated when shooting stills atop a tripod.
    • Dynamic IS: This setting is effective when recording video using wider focal lengths and simultaneously walking or moving.
    • Powered IS: Ideally suited for shooting video with telephoto focal lengths, this mode compensates for the camera movements that become more apparent with greater zoom magnifications.
    • Active Tripod IS: Unlike the stills tripod mode, this video-specific tripod mode compensates for slight amounts of shake that can be caused when recording movies from a tripod.
  Body Design and Built-In Wi-Fi
  • • For live view monitoring and image playback, a 3.0" LCD screen is available and features a touchscreen design for intuitive settings control and menu navigation.
    • A physical control ring permits easily accessible, direct control over various shooting settings as well as manual focus control.
    • The pocket-sized form factor is ideal for carrying with you at all times.

  Full HD Video Recording
  • In addition to stills shooting, Full HD 1080p video recording is possible in multiple frame rates, including 60, 30, and 24 fps. Movies are saved in the MP4 format and an HDMI port permits direct, high definition playback and live monitoring on external screens. Audio quality has been enhanced thanks to a wider dynamic range and better signal-to-noise ratio and for greater control during recording, access to manual exposure modes is available. Additionally, focus peaking can be used for faster, more intuitive manual focusing.
  Built-In Wi-Fi with NFC
  • Both photos and movies can be wirelessly shared to smartphones or tablets, using the Canon Camera Connect app, for instant online sharing or backed up to the Canon Connect Station CS100 via built-in Wi-Fi with NFC connectivity. Remote shooting from a linked mobile device is also available, allowing you to wirelessly configure exposure modes, aspect ratios, AF frame modes, or drive modes. In addition to the touch-to-connect functionality of NFC, a dedicated mobile device connect button is also integrated into the camera's design for seamless pairing of the camera to a device for browsing and sharing imagery.
  Other Camera Features
  • • Dedicated Star Modes and functions can be used to capture photos and videos of the nighttime sky with enhanced brilliance and clarity. Star Nightscape, Star Trails, and Star Time-Lapse Movies can be recorded, with auto or manual settings, and support functions, such as Night Display, Color Adjustment, and Star Emphasis, offer greater control over the final results.
    • A built-in pop-up flash can be used to provide additional illumination to a scene when working in challenging lighting conditions.
    • The included NB-13L rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 220 shots per charge when working with the LCD screen or 335 shots per charge in the ECO Mode.
    • An electronic level function helps to ensure plumb verticals and level horizons.
