Product description Capture images and video at depths up to 200' beneath the surface with Ikelite's Underwater Housing for the Canon EOS M10 Mirrorless Camera. Dual fiber-optic cable ports built into the housing allow for the connection of optional, external strobes. Ikelite's DS series substrobes attach via sync cord but can be used on the housing in manual exposure mode with an optional Ikelite Fiber Optic Converter, which adapts the bulkhead to a fiber-optic port. Ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, knurled knobs/dials, and a lever, afford access to virtually all camera functions. Built for durability, the enclosure is made in the USA from a corrosion-resistant ABS and polycarbonate blend. It's off-white/light gray on the front, sides, top, and bottom but clear in the back to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and rear camera controls. The housing ships without a required lens port, and accepts various dome and flat ports for a broad array of zoom, macro, and wide-angle lenses. For compatibility details, see the Port Chart. - Construction Details
-
- Features a depth rating of 200'
- Close two double-passivated, stainless steel locking lid snaps to see O-ring form a watertight seal
- Front-loading camera mounting system makes installation and removal a breeze
- Camera mounting plate allows for easy access to battery and memory card, and features a standard 1/4"-20 mounting point for attachment to an optional tripod topside
- Constructed by hand in USA from corrosion-resistant ABS and polycarbonate blend. Off-white with a touch of light gray on front, sides, top, and bottom, but clear in back to allow you to monitor O-ring seal and rear camera controls
- Off-white/light gray color reflects sunlight to keep camera cool when shooting at or above water's surface, and also offers better contrast for improved viewing of camera, LCD, and O-ring seal
- Design eliminates need for O-ring groove or channel that can trap sand, dirt, or debris, while also preventing accidental twisting or stretching of O-ring
- Slightly negative buoyancy in fresh water
- Actual buoyancy varies depending on choice of lens and port
- Strobe Connection and Operation
-
- Dual fiber-optic ports built into housing allow for connection of optional, external strobes using optional cables from most major manufacturers
- Camera's built-in flash suitable for firing an external strobe via fiber-optic connection, but not for lighting a photo underwater
- Strobes preserve natural colors of subjects and environments in images, and work best when you stay within arm's reach of what you're shooting. The further away you go, the more light is absorbed by water--which acts like a big blue/green filter
- Strobe and Cord Compatibility
-
- Ikelite Substrobes: DS50, DS51, DS125, DS160, and DS161 with optional Fiber Optic Converter
- Other strobes can be connected with one of these optional fiber-optic cables: Ikelite #4501 Fiber Optic Coiled Cord, INON Optical D "Non-wireless" L-type Cable
- Sea & Sea #50107 Fiber Optic L-type Cable
- Olympus UW Fiber Optic Cable PTCB-E02
- Nauticam-to-INON Optical Fiber Cable #26211
- Nauticam to Sea & Sea Optical Fiber Cable # 26212
- Controls and Handling
-
- Ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, large knurled knobs/dials, and a lever, afford access to all camera functions except Mobile Device Connection button
- Controls are designed to be easily operable even while wearing thick gloves
- Whenever possible, controls located in same configuration as on camera to replicate muscle memory and familiarity you've developed with camera
- Symbols laser-engraved into back of housing won't peel off or fade with time
- Camera's large, bright LCD screen can be viewed edge-to-edge through rear of housing
- Two 1/4"-20 threaded mounting points for connection of optional tray with handles, which provides additional balance/stability and attachment points for optional lighting arms
- Lens Port System
-
- Ships without a required lens port
- Accepts various dome and flat ports for a broad array of zoom, macro, and wide-angle lenses. For compatibility details, see the Port Chart linked above
- Attaching and changing ports is easy--just press port on and tighten 3 thumb screws
