Product description Capture images and video beneath the surface with your Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZS35 Digital Camera, a.k.a. DMC-TZ55, inside this Underwater Housing from Ikelite. This waterproof enclosure has a depth rating of 200'. Large, ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, knurled knobs, and levers, provide access to all camera functions. Built for durability, the housing is designed, built by hand, and tested in the USA. It's manufactured from corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow you to monitor the o-ring seal and maintain a full view of the camera. The integrated flat glass lens port has a 3.9" diameter. It accepts optional, external wide-angle and macro add-on lenses for an increased field of view or extreme close-up shots with better clarity and detail, respectively. You can also add optional color-correction filters to restore colors that get absorbed by the water. Expand your system by adding an optional AF35 AutoFlash strobe, which features a flex arm and mounts onto the grip handle of an optional tray. This external strobe is triggered as a wireless slave by the firing of the camera's built-in flash and replicates TTL exposure. The housing is also equipped with two ports for the connection of Ikelite, Sea & Sea, or Olympus-type fiber optic cables. It includes a diffuser to soften the light of the camera's built-in flash and a deflector to redirect it towards an external strobe. - Waterproofing
- Can be safely used at a maximum depth of 200'. Simply close the two double-passivated stainless steel locking lid snaps, and see the o-ring form a solid watertight seal.
- Controls and Handling
- Large, ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, knurled knobs, and levers, provide access to all camera functions. The housing is also configured with a 12-24 thread with 3.0" spacing for mounting an optional tray with single or dual handles, which will provide improved balance and handling, as well as quick-release attachment points for lighting arms.
- Construction Details
- Designed, built by hand, and tested in the USA. It's manufactured from corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow you to monitor the o-ring seal and maintain a full view of the camera.
- Lens Port
- The integrated flat glass lens port has a 3.9" diameter. It accepts optional, external wide-angle and macro add-on lenses for an increased field of view or extreme close-up shots with better clarity and detail, respectively. Both types of lenses will enable you to get closer to your subjects, cutting down on the amount of water between you and them to reduce distortion. The recommended WD-4 Wide Angle Dome provides 0.75x magnification. The optional 3.9" Macro Port Adapter allows for the attachment of 67mm threaded macro lenses from Inon and Epoque. You can also add optional color-correction filters #6441.46 for blue water and #6441.86 for green water to restore colors that get absorbed under the surface.
- Flash Use
- You can add an optional AF35 AutoFlash strobe, which features a flex arm and mounts onto the grip handle of an optional tray. Since a built-in flash is generally only effective within a very short distance from your subject, the use of a more powerful external strobe is highly recommended. It will provide greater illumination, color accuracy, and vibrancy, and will virtually eliminate backscatter, glare, and hard shadows.
- Additional Recommended Optional Accessories
- The Gamma Waterproof Flashlight outputs 220 lumens in a concentrated 10° beam with a daylight-balanced color temperature of 6500K. Run time is over 10 hr. Also available, the Quick Release Kit for GoPro includes everything you need to attach your GoPro camera/housing to an Ikelite Quick Release Handle.
