Product description Want to capture beautiful photos and brilliant 4K video underwater? The Ikelite Underwater Housing with TTL Circuitry and Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX85 Micro Four Thirds Camera Body Kit from enables you to do just that--at depths as great as 200'. Bundling the durable waterproof enclosure with the 16MP mirrorless Micro Four Thirds digital camera, this package gets you well on your way to a photo or video adventure beneath the surface. Once you grab your favorite lens, the appropriate port, and a strobe or video light, you'll be ready to start your dive. - Ikelite Underwater Housing with TTL Circuitry for Panasonic LUMIX GX85/GX80/GX7 Mark II Capture sharp, detailed photos and video at depths as great as 200' beneath the surface with Ikelite's Underwater Housing with TTL Circuitry for the Panasonic LUMIX GX85 digital camera, a.k.a. the GX80 or GX7 Mark II. Built-in, proprietary circuitry and an Ikelite bulkhead connector allow for TTL exposure with optional, external Ikelite DS Substrobes. Non-Ikelite strobes are compatible in manual mode, as well.
Ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, knurled knobs/dials, and a lever, afford access to all camera controls except for the diopter adjustment dial. Built for durability, the enclosure is made in the USA from a corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, ABS, acrylic, and acetal blend. It's white on the front, top, sides, and bottom, but clear in the back to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and maintain your view of the camera's rear controls. An optional, compact aluminum mounting tray and quick-release handle can be added to improve balance and offer an attachment point for an optional lighting arm.
The housing ships without a required lens port, and accepts various dome and flat ports for a broad array of zoom, macro, and wide-angle lenses. For full compatibility, see the Port Chart.swfyysstrvdwarcqeyxfryvtwcvftwrfx - Construction Details
-
- Features a depth rating of 200'
- Close the two double-passivated, stainless steel locking lid snaps to see O-ring form a watertight seal
- Front-loading camera mounting system makes installation and removal a breeze
- Camera mounting plate allows access to battery and memory card
- Rear seal design prevents accidental twisting or stretching of O-ring
- Made by hand in USA from corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, ABS, acrylic, and acetyl blend
- White on front, top, sides, and bottom to reflect sunlight and keep camera cool when shooting on or above water's surface
- Clear in back to allow you to monitor O-ring seal and maintain view of camera's rear controls
- Slightly negative buoyancy in fresh water
- Precise buoyancy varies depending on choice of lens and port
- Strobe Connection and Operation
-
- Camera's built-in flash is suitable for firing an optional external strobe, but not for lighting a photo underwater
- Use of external strobe highly recommended for color-correction and adequate brightness, and basically essential once you descend further than 15-20' underwater
- Strobe restores hues that get absorbed by water, so your images are vibrant and accurate
- Try to stay no more than 3-4' away from subject to preserve natural colors in images
- Housing provides a direct electrical connection to camera's external flash hot shoe
- Integrated circuitry and Ikelite bulkhead sync cord connector enable TTL exposure with optional, external Ikelite DS Substrobes
- Circuit powered by strobe, so there's no maintenance required and no batteries to change
- Circuitry fine-tuned to Panasonic's latest flash exposure protocol as of August 2016
- Exposure compensation in TTL mode is supported using camera's built-in control
- Sea & Sea, INON, and Nikonos strobes must be used in manual exposure mode only, but will still benefit from fast recycle times and improved battery life
- Threaded bulkhead connector prevents accidental sync cord detachment during use
- Bulkhead connection has been moved to top of housing to keep cords out of your way and reduce strain on ends
- 2 fiber-optic ports are built into front of housing to provide alternative strobe attachment method
- Use of fiber-optic connectors requires camera's built-in flash to fire, reducing battery life and bypassing TTL functionality
- Bright video light may be used instead of or in addition to flash, and can also aid in focusing
