Product description Get closer to those coral reefs, shipwrecks, and whale sharks while fitting more in frame with the Ikelite W-30 Underwater Wide-Angle Conversion Lens, which features a depth rating of 200'. It is specifically designed for digital cameras with wide lenses that have focal lengths of 28mm or less (35mm equivalent), and it increases your angle of view by about 40%. The lens offers a magnification of 0.59x. Adding it onto your camera housing will allow you to reduce the distance between you and your subject, thus cutting down on the amount of water in your way.
Water absorbs light and turns rich, varied colors into muted shades of blue, gray, or green, so minimizing the water standing between you and what you want to shoot is critical to maintaining color vibrancy and accuracy. Since this conversion lens has such a wide angle of coverage, you can get up close and personal while still fitting your whole subject in the shot. For more help restoring natural colors that get lost beneath the surface, attach the optional #6441.42 blue or 6441.82 green water filter available from Ikelite.
Additionally, the lens is made of optical glass with an anti-reflective coating, and it features 4 elements in 4 groups. One of these is a rare-earth element that helps provide improved permeability, clarity, and brightness. The lens body is constructed from an aluminum alloy. This completely waterproof wide-angle lens has both 46mm and 67mm threads for mounting onto many different lens ports on camera housings, and it can be attached to housings with 56mm thread diameters via the optional #9306.81 adapter. The lens can be removed and replaced with ease while underwater.
