An integrated fiberglass frame and a metal inner deflector bounces the direct light output backwards and distributes it across the broad flat arc of the dish. If you want to soften the punchy look of the beauty dish further, you can simply slip on the included cap-style front diffuser.A favorite of portrait and fashion shooters, beauty dishes are usually used quite close up, where the flattened light wraps around the subject while bringing out details in makeup and clothing.
