Product description A host of impressive core and convenience features make the VC-500WLN 500Ws Monolight from Impact an asset on any shoot. The monolight recycles to full power in a fast 1.5 seconds and at a fraction of that at minimum power. Fast recycling coupled with flash durations as short as 1/1200 second make the VC-500WLN ideal for kinetic subjects in sports, dance, or wildlife applications. The monolight has multiple triggering options, such as an optical slave and a PC sync socket. The slaves' seven preflash modes have a learning mode that memorizes the number of preflashes, allowing you to use your on-camera flash as the master slave to trigger one or more VC-500WLN's. The flash head also has a built-in 16-channel wireless receiver that, with the separate purchase of a radio transmitter, will allow to trigger your flash at distances up to 328'. The VC-500WLN's user-replaceable 250W modeling lamp can be set to Proportional mode to approximate how the light is falling on your subject or at a user-selected brightness independently of the flash power setting. Soft-start circuitry ensures long modeling lamp life. The monolight has three types of technology that protects its circuitry. CMOS chip technology limits the heat generated by the circuit board, overheating and overvoltage protection shields against unstable voltage and Adaptive Thermal Control keeps the quiet cooling fan engaged. Lastly, the versatile VC-500WLN employs the popular S-type front accessory mount for the included reflector and other Impact light shapers, but the light is also compatible with accessories from the many manufacturers that use this popular mount. - Short Flash Durations and Recycle Times
- Flash durations as short as 1/1200 second coupled with 1.5 second full power recycling are useful for freezing action when shooting fast-breaking subjects in wildlife, sports, and fashion.
- Triggering Options
- The VC-500WLN has a built-in 16-channel receiver (separate purchase of transmitter required) that allows wireless triggering at distances up to 328'. You can also trip the flash using an optional sync cord or the built-in optical slave. The slave has red-eye reduction and synchronous modes.
- 250W Modeling Light
- The user-replaceable 250W modeling light can be set to Proportional mode to approximate how the light is falling on your subject, or at a user-selected brightness independently of the flash power. Soft-start circuitry ensures long modeling lamp life.
- Slave / Preflash Modes
- The VC-500WLN has seven preflash modes as well as a learning mode that automatically memorizes the amount of preflashes and allows you to use your monolights as slaves with most on-camera flashes.
- Thermal Control
- The monolight has three types of technology that protects its circuitry. CMOS chip technology limits the heat generated by the circuit board, overheating and overvoltage protection shields against unstable voltage, and Adaptive Thermal Control keeps the quiet cooling fan engaged.
- S-Mount
- The flash head has an S-type front accessory mount for Impact or other brands of light shapers that use this popular mount.
- Audio Alerts
- Makes it easy to know when your flash is fully recycled and ready to shoot again.
- 5V Trigger Voltage
- Low trigger voltage makes the VC-500WLN safe for use with all cameras.
