Product description The Net Toner and Probe Kit from Intellinet is a handheld tool useful for testing, tracing, and identifying signal in telecom, datacom, security system, video-, and audio-networking equipment. It provides a two-position switch for single or multi-tone signal, and offers both modular cables and testing leads to test individual wires or modular jacks. With this kit, you can trace or identify wire and cables in bundles or groups.
The Net Toner provides two sets of frequencies, with High alternating between 500 and 781 Hz and Low alternating between 446 and 657 Hz. The Net Toner's talk battery is quite a useful feature, as it allows users to communicate over telephone test sets—even when a circuit is dead—by providing additional battery power to the inactive circuit.
The probe comes with a replaceable plastic tip to prevent accidental shorts, and provides a 3.5mm ear jack. The probe will allow you to trace for unknown cable path/termination, locate termination verification, locate conductor break/discontinuity, identify telephone line polarity, verify telephone lines, and more, doing so while providing LED lights to indicate the state of a given line's polarity, continuity, and voltage.
