Product description With a payload capacity of 360 pounds, the 31.5"-tall iOptron Permanent Pier offers the maximum amount of stability and support for heavy-duty mounts, large optical tube assemblies (OTAs), and all the accessories, gear, and equipment needed to observe and photograph the wonders of the night sky. The pier is made from 1/4"-thick aluminum alloy tubing for reduced vibration and increased system stability. Four aluminum side struts are welded between the pier tube and the base plate to eliminate side flexure (twisting) of the OTA under heavy or off-center loads. Much more stable and reliable than even the heaviest tripods, the pier is meant to be permanently installed on patios, decks, or in backyard observatories, and comes with a CEM120 mounting plate for easy attachment of the large iOptron equatorial mount.
