Product description The K5600 Alpha 18K is a unique HMI head that employs a revolutionary design which pairs a high efficiency quartz composite reflector, (which out-performs standard aluminum reflectors by 8%); with structural air vent construction that allows the head to run cool enough to angle straight down during operation. At 18,000W this is the light to use when you want create your own environment on set. But while the Alpha 18K is a big light, the "Open-Eye" construction permits a slim-for-its-size 22.5" profile which accepts front accessories including Fresnel lenses. And while competitors' 18Ks weigh in at about 150 lb, the Alpha 18K weighs 104 lb lens-less and 128 lb with one of the optional Fresnel lenses. This K5600 Alpha 18K Kit includes the fixture, clear ceramic lens, a scrim bag, lens case and a protective front cover. The wide, sturdy yoke has a junior 1 1/8" male mounting stud, while two double 5/8" studs are affixed to it to accept grip gear and accessories. The Alpha 18K will accept optional 12K or 18K HMI lamps. The kit does not come with a ballast or head extension cable. - This "Open -Eye" HMI fixture converts to a 24" Fresnel via the optional drop-in flood and spot Fresnel lenses.
- Reflector
- Revolutionary quartz composite reflector is 8% brighter than standard aluminum reflectors.
- Cooling
- The combination of the quartz composite reflector with computer designed, structural air vents provides efficient convection cooling in any operating position. You can even point it straight down.
- Lamp Suspension
- Double spring suspension enables cooling and protects the lamp during transport. Easy front access for lamp change.
